Call To Action has been working with local leaders in Charlottesville to host a day-long retreat that will focus on how Catholics can resist racism in our communities. This retreat is being planned for early 2018. It will be an opportunity for Catholics in the Charlottesville area to reflect on the racist rallies that recently invaded their city and organize a faithful response to white supremacy. If you live in or around the Charlottesville area and are interested in learning more about this retreat, please contact CTA.
CTA will also host an online webinar and discussion circle about white supremacy and the Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 28 at 7pm Central Time. Like the Charlottesville retreat, this webinar will give Catholics an opportunity to reflect on– and resist– the impact of white supremacy in our parishes and communities. If you would like to be a part of this online discussions, contact CTA.
White supremacy is far more wide-spread than a few hateful rallies and marches. These marches are merely a symptom of the virus that has plagued our church and country for centuries. Now is the time to do the hard work of uprooting racism in our church and to recommit ourselves to the Gospel values of justice, equality and inclusion.
