This fall offers many opportunities for LGBT Catholics and allies to connect

DignityUSA conference liturgy

This fall a variety of conferences and meetings will take place, offering LGBT Catholics and allies a great number of opportunities to connect with one another.

In lieu of a national conference, our coalition partner Call To Action is instead offering three regional conferences with keynotes and sessions on topics such as welcoming LGBT people in the church, transgender and intersex identities, immigration and sanctuary, caring for our earth, and more:

Our friends at the the Marianist Social Justice Collaborative are also offering a retreat for LGBT persons and their allies called, “All Are Welcome: The Way You Are.” Presenters will speak on topics such as finding your true self, creating welcoming spaces, and recognizing your call. This will take place in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 27-29, 2017.

An ecumenical Christian gathering will bring LGBTQIA saints and prophets from many traditions together to honor our history and empower our future. Notable Catholic voices will include Marianne Duddy-Burke from DignityUSA, Sr. Jeannine Gramick from New Ways Ministry, Jamie Manson from the National Catholic Reporter, and theologian Mary Hunt. “Rolling the Stone Away” will take place in St. Louis, Missouri on October 31-November 2.

Finally, the second assembly of the Global Network of Rainbow Catholics will meet in Munich, Germany from November 30-December 3, 2017, to share information and ideas on how to keep the dream of LGBTQI justice and inclusion in the Catholic Church alive.
